Obituary for Emoe Craig (Green)

Emoe Green Craig, age 85, of Granite Falls went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Caldwell County Hospice. She was born April 11, 1932 in Bamboo, Watauga County, NC and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Coy Green and Maggie Greer Green. In addition to her parents, Emoe was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Henry Craig and one brother, L.C. Green.

Emoe worked as a cloth cutter for Century Furniture until her retirement. She was a member of Poovey’s Grove Baptist Church. Emoe loved taking trips with Christian Tours. She loved spending Friday nights at Curley’s Fish Camp. Out of everything, Emoe achieved in her life, her proudest accomplishment was her five generations of firstborn women, (Emoe,Sherry,Carla, Jessica and Blake).
She was a very caring and compassionate lady. Emoe loved her family dearly.

Mrs. Craig is survived by a daughter, Sherry Craig Robinson and husband Richard; a granddaughter; Carla Wheeler Hollinghead and husband Jason; two grandsons, Adam Wheeler and Richard Robinson III. Also, left to cherish Emoe’s memory are twelve great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 from 4:00-5:00 PM at Poovey’s Grove Baptist Church with the Service to follow at 5:00 PM. Officiating will be Pastor Jimmy Church, Rev. Dr. Rick Crouse and Rev. Ashley Crouse. Burial will be in the Poovey’s Grove Church Cemetery.
