Obituary for Mark Eric ""Eric"" Setzer

Eric Setzer, age 57, of Hickory went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 18 ,2018. He was born February 19, 1961, son of Ben and Lorene Whisnant Setzer.

Eric loved coaching his kids ball team. He enjoyed fishing, watching golf, and all sports. His previous occupation was a co-owner of Hickory Printing Service of Hickory. Most recently, he was the full time caregiver of his parents.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish his memory are one son, Ashley Setzer and wife Brittany of Mooresboro, NC; one daughter, Nikki Icard and husband Jason of Taylorsville; his girlfriend, Patty Travis; four grandchildren, Cloey, Kendra, Lucas and Emma; two sisters, Caron Tucker and husband Michael of Granite Falls, Terri Cook and husband David of Bethlehem; two brothers, Tim Setzer and wife K.C. of Taylorsville, Michael Setzer and wife Christy of Taylorsville; a number of nieces and nephews; and his dog “Wolfie”.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, April 21, 2018, 3:00 PM at Friendship Lutheran Church, Taylorsville. Rev. Greg Yeager will officiate. The family will meet and greet following the service in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Catawba Regional Hospice, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
